Research, research, research

We've got my travel book, we've got flight prices, we've got general surf locations, and even looked into vehicle rentals in case we want to do our own day trips, but now I'm starting to dig REAL deep! Now I'm starting to look into specifics. Well somewhat into the specifics. Where do we ACTUALLY want to go, and where are the BEST places to surf, and decent places to stay. I've answered some questions for others on forums, and now I have asked my own questions.

I've been to the southern portion of Nicaragua before (2006). Stayed in San Juan del Sur. Shuttle trip to Playa Maderas, boat trip to Playa Colorado. Stayed in Granada and at the Laguna de Apoyo. From there I did day trips back to Granada, to Masaya, and to Managua. But I'm curious about the northern areas.

I found a wicked site that shows a bunch of surf locations up and down the coast. I'm looking at areas of clusters, since we only have two weeks. One or two base locations, and lots of surf spots and beaches would be nice. Okay, so really, I am just looking into general things....more like, should we head north from Managua, south back to San Juan area, or stay centrally along the coast. There are surf spots all over.

So, let's see what I come up with! But I'm already starting to wish we had more time to spend there! That's how it goes, lol!

And with this last post....I am getting REALLY excited about this trip!

Destination = Nicaragua = Malaria pills

We've decided on the destination...Nicaragua it is. And away we go!!! Not quite so fast and not so easy. Based on the information we were provided from the Travel Clinic and what I know about the country and my last trip there (2006), we're getting some malaria pills to take...just in case. Cuz, really, we don't know where all we'll be going once we get there.

Better safe than sorry, I think.

We had a joint appointment at the doctor today and received our prescription for Chloroquine.

Yet another step down.
