Travel Cards

Last time I went travelling, I met a couple who had "travel" cards, like business cards, with them. Instead of writing their info in your journal, or on a piece of paper you either lost or couldn't read, they handed these out instead.

I know our trip isn't a long duration, but when I remembered this couple, I thought it was a good idea. And being the organized person that I am, I decided to make some as well. Lol, I know I can be a bit of a dork! :)

In a Nick of Time

In one week today, Paul and I will be sitting on a plane to Costa Rica! Dreaming of the sun, sand, and surf. Wearing flip flops and leaving the fall weather behind. Ahhhhh.

But we flew just under the radar as we booked last minute. We may have been planning this trip for months, but the funny thing is, we finally only booked today! lol. But that's okay, we have everything we need. Just some loose ends to tie up now that we have our travel dates confirmed.

We leave in a week! Woohooo!!

Being Indecisive

Oh oh, I said it. Cuz now it's ME being indecisive on the travel destination. I was all geared up for Nicaragua, seeing an old friend, travelling to familiar places, and travelling to some new places. I was also excited to fly into Liberia and do a bit of both countries. Now we're set on Costa Rica alone and ready to book (flying into San Jose)... and I now I'm being indecisive!

So I quickly looked up a couple options for us...1) total change of scenery to Panama? 2) flying into CR, and flying out of a different city/country. The second option is the best of all worlds, but for the length of our trip, it's not feasible as it almost doubles are flight costs....no thank you, not for a two week trip.

And what does it all go back to....I wish we had more time! lol!

Ready to Book

Alright, we're ready! Let's book this thing!! Flight destination = San Jose, Costa Rica. Options were reviewed, flight prices have been researched, so let's book it.

We're on the computer ready to book, only to find out that flight prices on the weekend are MORE than they are during the week. Booo! Ok, we'll put it off til tomorrow when the prices are slightly lower.

Strange though...thought flight prices worked in reverse.

Here or there or where?

It has now come up in discussion that we are still undecided on our main location. We were ready to go to Nicaragua, hence my more detailed research. Then Paul started talking to more and more people, and changed his mind to Costa Rica.

The indecision is fair enough. It's a decent sized trip, but only a short duration, so we wanna do it right. I've been to both countries, and look forward to some old...and some new adventures, whereas these destinations are totally new for Paul. I don't think we can go wrong. Just need a main destination to fly into, and we can work the rest out when we get there...but we'd like to fly into close proximity of where we'd like to hang out to cut out more travel time.

Can we work out a compromise??

Nicaragua or Costa Rica or both? Our plane tickets still aren't purchased. Yep, that's right, no tickets with only 2-3 weeks prior to our preferred departure dates. Nothing like last minute booking! :)

Current toss up = Nicaragua for full 2 weeks, fly into Managua. Costa Rica for full 2 weeks, fly into San Jose. OR both! A week in each and fly into Liberia.

I'm game for any decision....I would just like to get our flights booked.

Typhoid Fever Precaution

Protecting ourselves against Typhoid fever started today. 4 pills, 1 every other day. No drinking or eating 2 hours prior, or 1 hour after.

My last dose was supposed to last 7 years, since then they have found out otherwise. Now it's only reported to last about 4 years...and I'm about 3.5 years into my last dose. So here we go again.
