Day 3: La Fortuna

The canopy tour took a little longer than we thought, and since we hadn't eaten yet, we decided to grab some food and tour around town. We ate lunch at a local restaurant. We had a typical Costa Rican meal and a fruit smoothie...all for a whopping total of $4 each! Gotta love this country!La Fortuna had a nice looking central park in the downtown area.

It had a fountain and lots of pretty flowers.

As well as some slightly different fire hydrants, and some nice churches.

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at a grocery store for some evening snacks and drinks.

It was at the grocery store in La Fortuna that I found my FAVORITE Costa Rican fruit!!! I can't remember what they are called. Similar to Leechi fruit, but soooooooo much better! I was one happy girl!
Back at the hotel, we spent some time of the computer and played cards and visited with (L-R)Greg, Derek, and Charles. We met these guys at Pangea Hostel in San Jose on our first day of the trip. They had planned on going to Jaco first, just like we did. So we were all on the computers at the hostel figuring out where to go instead. They are from New York and are here for a one-week Costa Rican holiday.
