During our travels today from La
Fortuna, to
Arenal Volcano to
Baldi Hot Springs, and out of town, we started seeing some cute Costa
Rican animals, like these guys who were wandering along the side of the highway. Not a great place for them to be, but they were super friendly, super cute, and they travel as a family. If they are not in a family pack, then the male travels alone.
I asked the owners at Hotel Dorothy what these critters were called. They look like a mix of ant eater and raccoon. But I didn't understand the name in Spanish, and it still didn't make sense in its English translation. But they sure were cute!
We spotted them between La
Fortuna and
Baldi.
En route from La
Fortuna to our next destination of
Tamarindo, we caught a glimpse of some howler monkeys running along the power cables.
