Today was decision day...again. Do we head to Jaco or hit the border to Nicaragua? As of yesterday, we were heading to Jaco today. We were all packed up and ready to go when the indecision started again. We have "Jimny Cricket" for another couple days for drop off in Liberia. The plan was to head to Jaco today, rent the car for another week, continue south from Jaco to Manuel Antonio, if possible (due to hurricane) and then maybe head to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.
So now should we head to Jaco just to drive back to Liberia and head over to Nicaragua in two days? Or should we drop the idea of Nicaragua all together? My thought was to give up the vehicle early, and head over to San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua. We would then rent a Land Rover from a connection down there and tour Nicaragua for a few days before heading back to Costa Rica to hang out for a few days before the end of our trip.
In the end, we decided to stay one more night in Tamarindo, drop "Jimny" off tomorrow, and head over to Nicaragua. My preference was still Panama over Nicaragua, but again, we had a vehicle to deal with.
