Day 4: Baldi Hotsprings

Aside from the canopy tour that we did on Day 3, the other tour we chose was the hot springs tour...and my goodness, we're so glad we did. It was a true slice of heaven on earth!

We booked into Baldi Hotsprings Hotel and Spa for $27 / person for the hot springs and lunch. Wow, was it EVER a treat! Kinda one of those things you wished you could have saved 'til near the end of the trip, but something you definitely don't want to pass up on.

Welcome to our slice of heaven on earth....Baldi Hot Springs with Arenal Volcano in the background.

The hotspring pools were amazingly beautiful, and were fed from volcanic spring water. There were 25 pools...and no map, which was the only downside to this resort. We changed into our suits and made our way to the furthest pool. It consisted of a waterfall feature and a soaking pool. The water of the waterfall was super hot...almost too hot, but the pool was awesome.

Now THIS is how you relax. Ohhhh, it was so nice! The afternoon here was absolutely perfect.

Off to check out the rest of the pools. The next one down had a cascading waterfall from the first pool to the lounge chair pool. The pools were slightly cooler as we made our way back down.

Some of pools were either under construction, unfilled, or not were very cool because the water feature was not working. Even with numerous pools being out of commission, we still had plenty of pools to soak in, including one with a swim up bar.

Just like other places in Costa Rica, there were many beautiful flowers and greenery to enjoy here as well. Costa Rica is so beautiful. I love tropical places!

Next up...we make our way to Tamarindo.
