Day 5: Tamarindo Beach Day

Tamarindo, or as I like to call it, Tama-gringo, was my least favorite destination when I travelled here in 2006. It was the busiest town with the most tourists and the highest prices...for accommadation, food, souveniors, you name it. However, I was also healing from an injury when I was here last, and we only spent two nights in town.

My opinon hasn't changed much, it's still a very touristy town, however prices were marked down because it is still off-season. So that was nice. But the people that we met here this time, definitely made up for the rest. The hostel owner and his friends were pretty wicked, we met up the the NY boys again (Derek, Charles and Greg from La Fortuna), and we met the owners of a sushi restaurant and a board shop that gave us some pointers. Plus we also had our own vehicle this time around so Paul and I were able to venture out of town more and hit some other beaches. My previous travel partner and I had teamed up with two American boys last trip. They had a vehicle as well so we were able to tour some beaches north and south of Tamarindo last time too, but there is much more freedom when the vechicle is your own.
Onwards to the beach....especially since this is the first beach town of our trip! Let's go! Again, so pretty!
Our first steps into the warm Pacific Ocean waters this trip.
