Turns out, the news was reporting another storm coming towards Costa Rica. Not as large as Hurricane Tomas by any means, but this time is was going to hit the Carribean side...in a day or two. That made the decision a bit easier. Quepos and south was still in disarray as well, so I guess Tamarindo it is!
We're back on the narrow, winding roads as we leave La Fortuna, the volcano, and the hotsprings behind. It will be interesting to see how much Tamarindo has changed. I'm still currently still trying to convince Paul to venture into Nicaragua since we're going in that direction anyways. So far though, I guess I'm not being convincing enough.
After leaving La Fortuna, the highway took us around Lake Arenal. It was very pretty. Yes I say that a lot, but that's because everything is! When we stopped to take some photos, a guy came up to us asking if we wanted to do a lake tour on a boat. Sadly, we had already decided to venture to Tamarindo that evening, so we had to pass. But we kinda wished we could have done the boat tour.
Here's some pictures from driving along the lake before we made it back to the main highway that runs through Costa Rica.
The sun was setting in the distance, and casting such a beautiful light on the landscape.
Back on the road with Jimny Cricket.
